Origin/History
Ana was living in Russia when she was taken by the Greys, not the Sons of Ivaldi Grays. They took her and experimented with her DNA over a period of time, giving her several abilities, and wiping her mind of who she was, then inserted an amber diamond into her brain. This is how they communicate with her. They also implanted a small, ruby hourglass in the small of her back that is connected to her spine. It is unknown what function it serves. When they were finished, they released her as their weapon of terror (the Reaper Ghost). Her duties to the Greys included raiding isolated villages and towns and capturing humans for experiments and, sometimes, food for the them. 

Once, the diamonds function was blocked by raditation. She lost contact with the Greys, and their hold over her was gone. She regained all of her memories and remembered the horrifying things she did for the Greys. Still  able to speak with them, she vowed to destroy them. Now, her mission is to redeem herself by destroying the Greys and freeing anyone who is a captive experiment. Free from their control, she is lost in the United States of America. She eventually runs across the American General and the Black Arachnid (2.0). After a breif hostile encounter, she tells her story. Ana requests to be allowed to locate the other experiments, which she can find with the diamond in her head. Being a foreign agent on American soil, the American General assigns Black Arachnid to be her handler. He also reminds her that she is a visitor in this country and not to mess up.

After several adventures of hunting the Greys, looking for the other experiments and everyday "hero" work, Everett sees that she has great potential and gives her the code-name of Black Arachness. She later becomes an American citizen and gets a suit to match Everett's, while still retaining the camouflaging properties of her previous suit, and she gets web launchers, becoming an official member of the Black Arachnid family.

Notes 
This is the 5th version of the Black Arachnid. 

Wikipedia shows both the Greys and Grays as the same species. For purposes of this document, the Grays are a sub-species of the Greys, and the Sons of Ivaldi are a group of Grays related to the dwarfs in Norse mythology (ie: the Sons of Ivaldi are Grays, also theorized in Ancient Aliens.)
