Origin
Kason is an archaeologist. He is excavating in Sweden when he comes upon a sword with a broken blade. He thinks nothing of it and brings it back to his collection in the United States. As he lays the broken sword into the case with his other sword relics, he notices that a blade found on a previous dig matches the sword. He takes the blade and places it on the end of the sword. As the connection is made, the completed sword glows and Kason hears a voice, saying the name of the sword. "Næġling."
Kason drops the sword and falls on his ass, looking at the still glowing sword. "My name is Beowulf." (because you know he learned modern English in the spirit realm, right?) "Take the blade and receive it's power."
All is quiet, the sword glowing on the floor.
After about a minute of trying not to crap his pants, Kason grabs the sword. His body begins to glow as the sword does. In a few seconds, only the sword glows, "Næġling will guide your way. Evil must be banished."
"What do I do?" asks Kason.
Beowulf continues, "Should you ever find the blade not in your hand, say its name, and it shall return."
Kason gets upset, "HEY!! What do I do?!"
"Follow the blade..." the voice fading to silence. The sword stops glowing.
Kason lifts his head toward the ceiling, "What the fu--!!!"
