Origin 

10,000 years ago, an alien sorcerer battled and eventually imprisoned an ancient (even then) evil in order to save the galaxy from annihilation. The evil one was imprisoned within a cosmic crystal of nearly limitless power.

Over the millennia, the alien sorcerer learned to tap this power and transfer it to others. It would only empower those of a race that were different; mutants. And only then, it would select those whose mutations complimented, or balanced, each other, and enhancing their natural mutations.

Only selecting five, or six, at a time, the crystal selected many teams over the thousands of years, and only until the threat was vanquished. This would sometimes last days, or even years.

Now, the evil one has escaped, taking with him a portion of the power, and the crystal has chosen a new team…

Powers and Abilities

• Each individual team member has his own power set.
• The cosmic crystal enhances the team members’ powers, giving them the ability to gestalt, or merge together to form a more powerful being, and bonds them together empathically to make them better teammates, and friends.

Team Appearance

Each member of the team has his own color, symbol, theme or weapon, distinguishing them from each other. Their uniforms vary from archaic armor to brightly colored spandex to high tech war-suits. They must be recognizable as a team.

Era
Teams can be from nearly any time period; from the ancient past, to the far future. Or a mixture of any in between. 

Weapons and Gear
With each having his/her own powers, I don't see much need for weapons. But, the choice is yours. Defensive gear is likely.

Origin 

Five Teenage girls find an ancient artifact that gives them super powers. They battle enemies of love and beauty. Each one has her own color and power. Their ages can vary from 10 to 18 years of age (ShMjo age).

They share an empathic connection with one another

Black Arachnid I & II (Open Source)

Real Names: ??? Snowe (Black Arachnid I), Max Snowe (Black Arachnid II)

Origin

Max Snowe is the son of the original Black Arachnid. His father trained him all of his life to continue the tradition. When his father was killed battling a villain, Max assumed his father's role as the Black Arachnid. Max is young, but capable of continuing his father's work.

Equipment and Weapons

• cartridge launchers on his hands. He can load them with micro-netting coated in high-tack adhesives which acts as his spiderweb, micro-grappling hooks used for swinging, climbing, or repelling, and toxin dipped darts that can paralyse an opponent temporarily. 
• his hands and soles of his feet have micro-hooks (similar to the micro-grappling hooks) he uses for clinging to objects. 
• his belt holds replacement cartridges for his cart launchers, and a variety of "pellets"

Hero & Villain (Open Source)

Real Names: H-101 & V-101; respectively

Origin

Hero and Villain were designed and created by two scientists, one intent on selling the new tech as a bio weapon. After years of research and development, the project was a success. Intended to be a training aid to new superheroes, the Hero and Villain project soon became an object of financial gain. After several arguments over the matter, the greedy scientist took Villain and copies of the research. He soon began to use Villain for his own personal gains. The other scientist saw Villain on the news and activated Hero to stop him.

Powers and Abilities

Hero and Villain are cybernetic / genetic constructs. Their brains are cybernetic, as well as certain neural pathways. Their bodies are genetic blanks, and able to be programmed. They receive programming via a memory card, which is inserted into a port behind the left ear. They can be uploaded with skill sets, superhuman power sets, personalities, racial properties, and technical data, etc. They could be anyone, with any skills or powers, and know anything. They must have a memory card inserted to be active. Base OS programming only allows for normal organ and cellular function.

American General (Open Source)

Real Name: Lt. Gen. Joseph K. Parsons

Origin

Joseph K. Parsons was a General in the United States Army during World War II. He led his troops in the battlefield. His men respected him greatly and would follow any command, not because they had to, but because they wanted to. He inspired his men. He was their leader, hero, and father-figure.

During a raid on a Nazi outpost, Joseph was injured and near death. The medics stabilized him as best they could. His men found a doctor. He patched up Joseph as best he could, telling his men there is nothing he could do to save his life. He was approached by a government scientist with a top secret formula. He was offered his health restored, and more, in exchange for top secret government service. He agreed and the drugs that would save his life were administered. His body began to heal within minutes, and was completely healed within a couple of days. Over the next several weeks, his individual cells were reverted back to their peak condition. Though in his late 50’s, he appeared to be in his twenties.

He later returned to the battlefield as the American General, and continued, with his men, through the end of the war. He then became a government agent during the Cold War involved in top secret and other work. He has been serving in this capacity ever since.

Real Name: Barnaby Wolf

Golden Age Origin

Barnaby worked as a researcher at a local museum. He was working late one night when thieves broke in to steal artifacts. Barnaby caught them and attempted to fight them off. He was thrown across the storeroom and into a shelf. A box fell on him and opened. The medallion inside fell out onto his chest. As he grabbed it, it began to glow. The glow then covered his entire body.

The thieves were hauling artifacts out to a truck when Barnaby appeared and began taking out the crooks. Soon, they were all defeated. Barnaby realized he wasn’t the same. He looked at his clawed hands, then at the thieves. He fled into the night.

He becomes a superhero and fights crime in the streets, and later, in the war. He carries two tonfas which he usually carries on his back.

Real Name: (Brute) Samantha Channing, (Tiny) Maury Baker

Origin 

Samantha and Maury met when they were just 4 years old, when their parents met and eventually married. Samantha’s mom died in childbirth, Maury’s dad left and never came back. They grew up together as siblings. They were always each others best friend.  As they became teenagers, they were exposed to genetic experimentation after being kidnapped by the henchmen of a mad scientist. The result was unexpected to the scientist, Samantha and Maury both gained superhuman powers. The same superhuman powers, with some differences. Samantha can lift up to 1,000 tons and resist bullets. Maury can lift up to 50 tons and survive a fall from orbit. When in close proximity, their powers even out, maximizing both teens’ powers.

Zyr, Galactic Knight (Open Source)

Real Name: Zyr V'lomah

Origin 

Zyr was born into the warrior class on his home planet of Dagooine. Dagooine is mostly desert and swamp with few oceans. Raised to be a warrior servant of the Dagooine Warlord, Zyr endured pain and torture. He was trained in edged weapons, blunted weapons, and hand-to-hand combat.

He became a general at an early age, though not the youngest. His men followed his command without question. His command reached over 1,000 troops. This led to Zyr leading a rebellion to overthrow the warlord. During the battle in the throne room, Zyr took control of the Sun and Moon Swords, the most powerful weapons on Dagooine. When placed together, they become the Galaxy Sword. By right, Zyr had taken leadership of the planet, but instead, decreed that his world be free. A government arose and the Dagooan people lived in peace. Zyr had taken the role of his worlds protector. 

Some time passed and the Galactic Order of Knights arrived to recruit Dagooine into its ranks, offering trade and protection, for warriors to protect the galaxy. The Prime Official agreed. Zyr volunteered for the duty. Others were chosen. 

Zyr quickly became a legend throughout the galaxy. With the Galaxy Sword, Zyr was unbeatable. Others wanted the blade, and the pursuit and challenging of Zyr became an occupation among the power hungry. This went on for years, innocents often paying the price for others' greed. To end this conflict, Zyr launched the Sun Sword into Dagooine's primary sun, and the Moon Sword into Rhor's Black Hole.

Zyr remains with the Knights, protecting the galaxy.

Deran Faed (Open Source)

Real Name: Deran Faed

Origin 

Not much is known about Deran before he was found on the steps of the Slinger’s Guild at about age ten. They took him in and he learned to be a Slinger; first the sword, next the whip, then the gun. He is one of the few to master all three, much less stay to master all three. The Slingers train to be protectors, be it bodyguards, law men, or soldiers. Deran chose to be a roaming protector;  travelling from town to town righting wrongs and protecting the innocent. Occasionally, some Slingers become mercenaries and Deran has vowed to stop these evil Slingers.

Asteroid Boy (Open Source)

Real Name: Hideki Kane

Origin 

Dr. Hideki Cho was a scientist/geneticist who was brought into the Gene-sis Project after the team of deep space telemetry specialists received a signal from space containing two genetic sequences. Dr. Hideki discovers that one sequence is for a completely new life form, while the other is partial; intended to be combined with human DNA. The telemetry specialists found that the two sequences needed a particular type of energy to “activate” the two the genetic helixes once formed. Every instruction was included in the signal, they just needed a geneticist to create the sequences. Dr. Hideki spent years working on the sequences, using his own DNA. After several years, Dr. Hideki succeeded in maintaining two viable sequences. By this time, the energy needed was developed into powering the lab itself with great efficiency. The energy was introduced to the two sequences, and life in each began. As they grew, they each grew an outer “womb” to protect the growing life forms. After six months, one life form was born. It was completely alien. It was some type of lower alien life form. Dr. Hideki named him, Astrumon, like a pet. He looked like some sort of alien cat with no hind legs or tail. He flies rather than walks. After another three months, the other was born, appearing to be completely human. Dr. Hideki named him, Kane, and gave him his family name. They were raised and studied by Dr. Hideki. Around the time they turned five years old, they began to exhibit superhuman powers.  They were taught to use and control these powers. They were also taught about their origin. They learned how to navigate through space and other things that may be useful to them. They came to look on Dr. Hideki as a father. He played with them, fed them, bathed them, and tucked them in at night. He gave them morals and values, and taught them how to survive in the world. The boys, like true siblings, fought, and when they did, it could, at times, become very explosive. They even did work for the government by fighting off kaiju (giant monsters).

Time went on and the boys grew older, as did the containment unit for the rare energy they used to power the labs. After sixteen years, the unit failed and exploded, killing everyone in the lab, save for the boys. With nothing left on Earth, Kane and Astrumon decided to try to get to the alien world the signal was sent from. So, they took off for “home” with no idea of what was in store.

Real Name: Kevin Newsome

Origin 

Kevin's mother was a good mom. Not having much money, she took her son to the resell shop for some play-shoes. After looking, Kevin noticed the metallic blue shoes with the white lightning bolt. For just $1, it was a good deal, and she bought him the shoes.

At home, he put them on and went outside. After playing a while, he noticed he could run faster, jump higher,  and stop on a dime. So, he began trying new things. He can run up walls and even short distances upside down on ceilings (gravity sucks).

As he grew older, his powers increased, as did the size of his shoes. He decided to secretly become the hero "Sneakers".
